Significance of place
I enjoyed my experience today in Jerusalem as I visited the garden tomb and the friends of Zion museum. At the garden tomb, we learnt the history behind where certain structures get their names from, such as Golgotha (place of the skull). I visited the place that is most likely to be Jesus’ tomb.
Being able to visit such places makes the bible come alive and creates a sense of closeness with the events that took place there. As well as deepening my physical understanding I have deepened my spiritual understanding of the word and why location is such an important thing in the bible.

First time experience in Israel
When I first arrived in Israel, I was blown away by the scenery and the landscape of Jerusalem. So far my experience in Israel is life changing. I find it really hard to comprehend that we are walking in the same streets that Jesus walked. Visiting Israel has given me a deeper understanding of the Bible because I can physically see the places that I read about within Bible that brings the scriptures to life. I’ve only been here for a day. However, I’ve been to many sites that have so much meaning and weight that I’ll never forget it. For example, we went to the Wailing Wall where I had the opportunity to pray and write down my request, this was definitely a special moment for me, because it gave me an insight into the Jewish tradition, alongside seeing the women pray next to me so passionately, it was very inspiring.
Overall my encounter in the Holy land has been a life changing experience thus far. It’s very surreal that I’m in the land of Israel, where our Lord and saviour grew up and lived. I am looking forward to the rest of the trip and my life. Shalom.
God Will Provide
There is always a first time for everything and throughout every journey, ‘God Will Provide’.
The Lord allowed my eyes to finally be opened to the wider world, where His beautiful creation is just beyond words.
I had never been abroad on a plane or actually stayed over at a hotel, and God provided all of these things into one trip. What better place than Israel, God’s chosen Holy Land, could I have had my first time experience in? In the midst of a crisis, especially with the youth riots in Israel, the Lord shows us his peace!
Before we even got onto the plane, I never actually understood what my true emotions were and now being here, I finally understand. Whilst my mind tried to take on fear, the Lord gave me an overwhelming sense of peace and joy… I’m in awe. I’m just so amazed and cannot comprehend the fact that we’re actually here in Israel, following the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ. I feel that whilst we are in the presence of the Lord, we are with love. I am looking forward to what God has in store for us and thank Him for his continuous blessings. I feel peace as though… I am home.
Welcome
Welcome to the blog of youth visiting the nation of Israel.
Before setting off, Rev Taylor prayed for all the youth covering them under the blood, we then made the journey to the promise land.
While on the British Airways flight everyone was calm and collected trusting God for a safe landing which He certainly granted to us all. We landed at the Ben Gurion airport located in Tel Aviv (Israel) on time. The heat really made itself know to us as we boarded the coach to Jerusalem, passing many sites that we knew and heard about from people and the Bible. During this trip, the youth shall be updating you all with the experiences and thoughts regarding the trip.
