Lamentations 3-5; Ecclesiastes 5; John 6:25-47

Lamentations 3

Lamentations 3:3 Lord, even when Your hand feels heavy on me, let me trust Your love and do Your will.

Lamentations 3:22-24 Lord, I praise You because of Your unfailing love for us! Your mercy has kept us from complete destruction. Your faithfulness is so great. Lord! Your mercies are fresh and new each morning. I put all my hope in You.

Lamentations 3:25-26 Father God, waiting especially patiently, isn’t something I find easy to do. Help me to seek You, expecting that You will bring good things to pass for me. Help me to wait quietly for You to show me Your salvation in any distress.

Lamentations 3:30 Lord, turning the other cheek isn’t something I do well, either! Please help me to be better in responding in love instead of anger to those who insult or abuse us.

Lamentations 3:40 Lord, help me not to complain about adversity in my life. Help me to accept Your discipline as an expression of Your love to turn me from rebellion or disobedience. Help me to test and examine my ways today, and humbly repent of any sin in my life.

Lamentations 3:49 Lord, please give me a thoroughly repentant heart; let tears flow down my cheeks when I depart from Your good, perfect, and pleasing will (Romans 12:2).

Lamentations 3:58 Father, thank You for sending Jesus, our lawyer, who lives forever to plead with You for those who believe ( Hebrews 7:25). Help us to entrust ourselves completely to Your care because You are just in all Your dealings.

Lamentations 4

Lamentations 4:1 Lord, I pray that the riches of this world will have little allure to us. Please help us to value the things You value and disdain what You disdain.

Lamentations 4:13 Lord, open our eyes from all blindness and show us vividly how destructive sin is to our well-being.

Lamentations 4:17 I look only to You Lord for my life, health, happiness, and salvation. Forgive me when I look anywhere else for what I need. You alone are my God, my provider.

Lamentations 5

Lamentations 5:1 Lord, You know better than anyone else all the details of my life. You know the joy and sorrow, the hurt and happiness, all of it. I praise You that You are merciful and extend Your grace to me, even at the lowest points in my life.

Lamentations 5:19 Lord, I praise You because You remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation. I will trust Your eternal, unchanging love in every circumstance.

Ecclesiastes 5

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 Lord, help me to be careful not to be flippant in prayer. Help me to weigh carefully what I intend to say before You, and when I make a commitment I pray for Your grace to fulfil it.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 Lord, make me diligent to add hard work to the dreams You put in my heart and mind. Never let my dreaming of the future become a substitute for action. Keep me away from speaking presumptuously of spiritual commitment or endeavour. Help me to cultivate reverence for You Lord.

Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 Lord, help me to consider and understand that wealth is intrinsically elusive and by it’s very nature deceptive.

Ecclesiastes 5:13-15 Lord, help us not to put our trust in our savings account or into strength of our investments but in You and Your loving care for us. We desire to live for You and accumulate true heavenly wealth.

John 6

John 6:27 Pray that God will help you balance the time, energy, and money you spend on life’s necessities with what you expend for your spirit’s nourishment.

John 6:32-35 You are the Bread of Life and You were broken for me, that I might be eternally filled and satisfied. Fill me this day, Lord, with the taste of Your endless abundance.

John 6:3, 44 Father, thank You for drawing me to Yourself, often in spite of myself. Thank You, for it is Your will that I never be lost again. I am in awe, Lord, of Your willingness to pursue me and then to hold me close.

Lamentations 1-2; Ecclesiastes 4; John 6:1-24

Lamentations 1

Lamentations 1:1 Pray for renewal and revitalisation for the disciples of Jesus Christ in all areas of our nation.

Lamentations 1:2 Name specific people you know who are mourning a loss of some kind. Pray that God will send them comfort.

Lamentations 1:12 Lord Jesus, as Jerusalem suffered for her sins, so you suffered for mine. Saviour I thank You for the pain You endured on my behalf. Lord help me to bury my past sins and failures out of my sight and to remember Your goodness towards me. Then I will not inflict judgement and pain upon myself by walking in sin again.

Lamentations 1:16 Precious Lord, I thank You today that I do have someone to comfort me. Holy Spirit, be my comforter and companion today.

Lamentations 1:20 Lord, I pray for those who are broken and in despair today because of rebellion against You. Turn their hearts toward You. Lord, where they can receive forgiveness. Healing and strength.

Lamentations 2

Lamentations 2:2 Father, may I never experience the removal of Your hand of mercy on my life and home! Please protect the homes and households in my family, church and community.

Lamentations 2:11 Ask God to give you a tender heart for the hurting children in your community. Weekly we hearing on our news of children missing, murdered, and abused. Pray that He will show you how you can minister to them.

Lamentations 2:12 My parent heart weeps with Jeremiah at the cries of these children. Lying deceptive spirits have deceived our children and poisoned there minds to truth so it is easy for them to live and tell lies rather than to live and speak the truth. Today I lift up Your Word in Matthew 18:18 Father, You said whatever I bind on earth is bound in heaven, and whatever I loose on earth is loosed in heaven. You say for me to cast out demons in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I bind our children’s spirit, soul and body to the will and purposes of God for their life. I bind their mind, will, and emotions to the will of God. I bind them to the truth and to the blood of Jesus. I bind their mind to the mind of Christ, that the very thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart would be in their thoughts.
I loose every old, wrong, ungodly pattern of thinking, attitude, idea, desire, belief, motivation, habit, and behaviour from them. I tear down, crush, smash, and destroy every stronghold of unforgiveness, fear, and distrust from them. I bind and loose these things in Jesus name.

Lamentations 2:17 Lord God, help me to heed the warnings in Your Word. May I never bring scoffing or shame on Your people or Your name.

Lamentations 2:19 A sleepless night is a perfect time to pray. When you can’t sleep, get up and be open and honest before God. Pour out your heart to Him, handing Him all your burdens and worries. Lift your hands to Him in prayer and praise.

Ecclesiastes 4

Ecclesiastes 4:4 Lord, let my motivation to succeed come from a desire to please You and bring glory to Your name. Help us not to compare ourselves with others. Give each one of us the grace to find our self-worth in You Lord.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Father, I thank You for all those who support me in so many ways. I need such people and I value their help. Help me, too, to be a supporter and encourager of those You have placed in my life.

John 6:1-24

John 6:1-5 Ponder how much bigger the world is today, and how many more people are in dire need of Jesus. Pray for worldwide revival so that needy people everywhere will have access to physical and spiritual bread.

John 6:9-10 A small boy gave his little bit, and Jesus multiplied it. Pray that God will bless your giving as well.

John 6:14-15 Ask The Lord to search your heart and correct any false notions you have about who He is and what He has come to do so that you can worship Him rightly and acceptably.

John 6:16-20 Jesus, our life seems a lot like a boat in a storm sometimes. But I know you love us and give us these words as an anchor. “I am here!” I bless You and praise You.
