Daniel 5-6; Ecclesiastes 8; John 7:25-53

Daniel 5

Daniel 5:4 God, thank You that You are not a god of gold, silver, bronze, iron, wood, or stone all physical elements that can be destroyed but that You are an everlasting Spirit, whom I can worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23). Help us not to be like the people in Daniel’s time. They praised the gods and they desecrated the sacred vessels by using them in idolatrous worship.

Daniel 5:12 Lord, please give me a sharp mind filled with knowledge and understanding. O Lord release Your excellent Spirit upon those who truly love You so we may move in the gifts of knowledge, understanding, interpretations dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas and bring glory to Your Name.

Daniel 5:17 Father, let me not be influenced by wealth and power, but help me to humbly do Your will.

Daniel 5:23 Lord, I praise You and submit to You as the One who gives me the breath of life and controls my destiny. Help me to speak out as Daniel did with no compromise and glorify Your Name.

Daniel 5:26-27 God, please help me to make the most of my life, however long or short it may be. When I come to the end of my life, may the balance weigh in my favour, Lord, not because of anything I’ve done, but because of what You’ve done in my life.

Daniel 6

Daniel 6:3-4 God blessed Daniel in his work because of his faithfulness and honesty. Consciously put God in charge of your job placement and advancement. Do the best you’re able to do, and commit the rest in prayer to Him.

Daniel 6:10 Father, help us, please let nothing, not distractions, not amusements, not challenges interfere with my times of pryer and fellowship with you.

Daniel 6:16 Please give me the courage, Lord, to stand firm when my faith is challenged and my convictions are tested.

Daniel 6:20-22 God, I thank You that You are able to keep me and protect me through every circumstance, and bring me into your “glorious presence innocent of sin and with great joy” (Jude 24).

Daniel 6:26-27 Lord, I praise You because You are the living God, and You will endure forever, Your holy rule will never end. You rescue and save Your people. I know that if you could protect Daniel from the mouths of lions, You can protect my family and me.

Ecclesiastes 8

Ecclesiastes 8:2-6 Pray that God would give you nation’s leaders wisdom to deal with the troubles of the entire country in a way that God’s will be done.

Ecclesiastes 8:14 Lord, make me wise enough not to expect an easy road. Remind me that You bless those who are persecuted because they live for You. (Matthew 5:10).

Ecclesiastes 8:17 Remind me often, Lord, that I don’t know everything. Help me to be humble in my quest for and use of knowledge.

John 7:25-53

John 7:25-27 Give thanks to God for His living word, that through the prophets of the Old Testament and the Good News of the New Testament, you recognise and can know the Messiah.

John 7:38 Saviour, I open my heart and mind to You, the living water, my only source of eternal life. Let me drink deeply of Your presence and let the river of Your Spirit flow through my Spirit.

John 7:50-51 Pray that God will give you the courage and clarity you need to assert yourself in the cause of righteousness and justice even though you stand in the minority.

Daniel 3-4; Ecclesiastes 7; John 7:1-24

Daniel 3

Daniel 3:5 Give me strength and faithfulness like the three men in this story, Lord, never to bow to idols of any kind, no matter what the consequences.

Daniel 3:12 Lord, I pray that others will always know me as someone who worships only You.

Daniel 3:17 Lord, what an example these three brave men are to me! When I face challenges, help me always to believe in Your willingness to rescue me, and to be faithful no matter what may happen.

Daniel 3:25 God, help me to face every new trial believing in Your promise that when I walk through the fire of oppression, I will not be burned up, the flames will not consume me, because You will be there with me (Isaiah 43:2).

Daniel 3:28 Lord, please Make me willing to die rather than serve or worship false gods.

Daniel 4

Daniel 4:3 Most High God, how great are Your signs, how powerful Your wonders! I praise You because You have promised that Your Kingdom will last forever, and I am a part of it.

Daniel 4:9 Holy Spirit, please control my life so completely that, like Daniel (Belteshazzar), those who don’t know You will be drawn to Your beauty, power, and wisdom.

Daniel 4:17 Lord, I pray that the whole world will acknowledge that You, the Most High God, rule over the kingdoms of the world.

Daniel 4:25 Father, thank You for the soundness of my mind! I acknowledge that even my sanity comes from You, as a result of Your grace to me.

Daniel 4:27 Ask God to show you how you can be merciful to the poor today.

Daniel 4:30 Lord, I pray that I will never think that it is my own strength and energy that make me wealthy and bring me success. Help me always to remember that You are the One who gives me power to work and succeed ( Deuteronomy 8:17-18).

Daniel 4:34  I praise You because You are the sovereign God. You do as You please! Help me always to trust that what You do is for my best, even when it hurts or disappoints or brings me sorrow.

Ecclesiastes 7

Ecclesiastes 7:1 Father, I pray for all Your children to have a good reputation among men and women, one that exalts You as our Lord.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 Lord, enable me to finish life well so that I can say, like Paul, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I remained faithful” ( 2 Timothy 4:7).

Ecclesiastes 7:13 Lord, help me to notice the way You do things. I want to become more and more familiar with Your ways so that I can cooperate with You every step of the way.

John 7:1-24

John 7:1-7 Pray that the Lord will teach you how to answer those who may scoff at you for Your faith in Him.

John 7:12-13  Intercede for those around the world who face danger if they speak publicly about Jesus. Pray for their safety and that they will have the courage to remain faithful.

Daniel 1-2; Ecclesiastes 6; John 6:48-71

Daniel 1

Daniel 1:1 Lord, I praise You because everything You say will happen does happen, just as Your Words about Nebuchadnezzar came true.

Daniel 1:4 Lord, I pray for strength and health to be in our lives. Help us Lord to become well versed in many areas of learning, gifted with knowledge and good sense, and have the poise needed to effectively serve You, my King.

Daniel 1:8 God, I want to honour You with every aspect of my life, including the foods and substances I put into my body. Give me wisdom to know what is good and what is harmful, physically and spiritually.

Daniel 1:20 Lord God, please give me wisdom and balanced judgement, as You did Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

Daniel 2

Daniel 2:1 Father, when I can’t sleep, turn my thoughts and prayers to You.

Daniel 2:11 Mighty God, I praise You because You are not like the so-called gods of the Babylonians. I praise You because You are alive and live in me.

Daniel 2:14 Lord, help me to handle threatening and difficult situations with wisdom and discretion.

Daniel 2:19 God, as servants of Christ, You have put us in charge of explaining Your secrets (1 Corinthians 4:1), make me a faithful witness.

Daniel 2:20-22  I praise Your name, El Shaddai, forever and ever, for You alone have all wisdom and power. You control world events and give wisdom and strength to those who ask You.

Daniel 2:30 Lord, any wisdom I have comes from You; help me to honour You as the source of all wisdom and knowledge.

Daniel 2:37 God of heaven, even as we pray for success in things we do. Give us the constant awareness that our success comes from You.

2:44 Thank You, Lord, for making me part of a Kingdom that cannot be destroyed (Hebrews 12:28).

Daniel 2:46 Lord, may we bow and worship the True and Living God. Offer Him your sacrifice of praise. Affirm the glory of His Name (Hebrews 13:15).

Ecclesiastes 6

Ecclesiastes 6:9 Heavenly Father, I want to enjoy what I have rather than to desire what I don’t have. Teach me to be truly content with and constantly thankful for all that You have given me.

John 6:48-71

John 6:63 Confess your tendency to try to please God and become “spiritual” through your human efforts. Rest in the knowledge that you only need to partake of the living bread.

John 6:68-69 Lord Jesus, so many of Your words seem difficult to understand and difficult to live. And yet, Jesus, there is no one who offers the life and light You do, who else could we go to? Lord I thank You for being You! My flesh shall not lead me to any other source, You have the words of eternal life.

Lamentations 3-5; Ecclesiastes 5; John 6:25-47

Lamentations 3

Lamentations 3:3 Lord, even when Your hand feels heavy on me, let me trust Your love and do Your will.

Lamentations 3:22-24 Lord, I praise You because of Your unfailing love for us! Your mercy has kept us from complete destruction. Your faithfulness is so great. Lord! Your mercies are fresh and new each morning. I put all my hope in You.

Lamentations 3:25-26 Father God, waiting especially patiently, isn’t something I find easy to do. Help me to seek You, expecting that You will bring good things to pass for me. Help me to wait quietly for You to show me Your salvation in any distress.

Lamentations 3:30 Lord, turning the other cheek isn’t something I do well, either! Please help me to be better in responding in love instead of anger to those who insult or abuse us.

Lamentations 3:40 Lord, help me not to complain about adversity in my life. Help me to accept Your discipline as an expression of Your love to turn me from rebellion or disobedience. Help me to test and examine my ways today, and humbly repent of any sin in my life.

Lamentations 3:49 Lord, please give me a thoroughly repentant heart; let tears flow down my cheeks when I depart from Your good, perfect, and pleasing will (Romans 12:2).

Lamentations 3:58 Father, thank You for sending Jesus, our lawyer, who lives forever to plead with You for those who believe ( Hebrews 7:25). Help us to entrust ourselves completely to Your care because You are just in all Your dealings.

Lamentations 4

Lamentations 4:1 Lord, I pray that the riches of this world will have little allure to us. Please help us to value the things You value and disdain what You disdain.

Lamentations 4:13 Lord, open our eyes from all blindness and show us vividly how destructive sin is to our well-being.

Lamentations 4:17 I look only to You Lord for my life, health, happiness, and salvation. Forgive me when I look anywhere else for what I need. You alone are my God, my provider.

Lamentations 5

Lamentations 5:1 Lord, You know better than anyone else all the details of my life. You know the joy and sorrow, the hurt and happiness, all of it. I praise You that You are merciful and extend Your grace to me, even at the lowest points in my life.

Lamentations 5:19 Lord, I praise You because You remain the same forever! Your throne continues from generation to generation. I will trust Your eternal, unchanging love in every circumstance.

Ecclesiastes 5

Ecclesiastes 5:4-6 Lord, help me to be careful not to be flippant in prayer. Help me to weigh carefully what I intend to say before You, and when I make a commitment I pray for Your grace to fulfil it.

Ecclesiastes 5:7 Lord, make me diligent to add hard work to the dreams You put in my heart and mind. Never let my dreaming of the future become a substitute for action. Keep me away from speaking presumptuously of spiritual commitment or endeavour. Help me to cultivate reverence for You Lord.

Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 Lord, help me to consider and understand that wealth is intrinsically elusive and by it’s very nature deceptive.

Ecclesiastes 5:13-15 Lord, help us not to put our trust in our savings account or into strength of our investments but in You and Your loving care for us. We desire to live for You and accumulate true heavenly wealth.

John 6

John 6:27 Pray that God will help you balance the time, energy, and money you spend on life’s necessities with what you expend for your spirit’s nourishment.

John 6:32-35 You are the Bread of Life and You were broken for me, that I might be eternally filled and satisfied. Fill me this day, Lord, with the taste of Your endless abundance.

John 6:3, 44 Father, thank You for drawing me to Yourself, often in spite of myself. Thank You, for it is Your will that I never be lost again. I am in awe, Lord, of Your willingness to pursue me and then to hold me close.
